Child Proof Your Home

childproof2Becoming a parent is a significant decision in anybody’s life (sometimes the decision wasn’t made by us). This is usually followed by several lifestyle changes, including making the house a secure place for your infant/toddler.

Childproofing a house and getting adjusted to those changes can be quite a difficult task. Your favorite sofa or bed may not be placed in a safe manner for the baby. It is easier, sometimes, to revisit the way your house is structured and designed and renovate it before having the baby. But again, sometimes, somethings are just not within our planning.

Here is an useful article that will be of some help to you : 10 Steps to Child Proof Your Home

Warning: Your Mattress Might be Costing Your Health

How long is the warranty of your mattress? 10 years? 15 years? 30 years? If you are expecting your mattress to last through the warranty period, be prepared for the bad news, a mattress shouldn’t be used for more than 5-7 years!
Much as we’d like to believe that the expensive mattress we bought would last a lifetime or at least the warranty period, the reality is entirely the opposite. Mattresses have to be changed way before it reaches the warranty expiration date for reasons none other than … Your Health! (mattress warranties do not cover that)
Our bodies sweat every night, night after night. Irrespective of the mattress cover, a small percentage of the sweat finds its way into the mattress. The moisture itself is a breeding ground for all kinds of germs and bacteria. On top of that, our bodies also shed off dead skin and other bodily fluid, and this in turn becomes a source of food for bed bugs and dustmites.
If you have not changed your mattress for the past 10 years, immediately head out to your nearest ikea/courts/harveynorman or visit our online mattress store to buy a new one!
