The Starlet Queen Size Bed Frame | Product Feature

The Starlet Queen Size Bed Frame is the perfect bed to have in the bedroom. The contemporary low platform style divan base with a synthetic leather-covered, high-density foam cushioned headboard stands out with its simplistic elegance, while the solid wood base provides enhanced support and comfort irrespective of the type of mattress selected to be placed on top. The divan has been uniquely designed into two pieces with six, two-inch stoppers providing firm support.
The queen size looks perfect in the master bedroom or the guest room. It fits into larger bedrooms just as well, leaving ample space for all the other furniture and accessories one would dream of seeing in the bedroom. Highly practical, since synthetic leather requires the least amount of maintenance, it looks like an exquisitely crafted divan. Its simple threading design on the headboard and sides breaks the monotony of the plain expanse, making it look graceful in both brown and black. The two colors complement the rest of the bedroom décor, be it in natural white or a contrasting white.
The height of the headboard at 97 cm is just right to rest your back, should you wish to sit back for a late night television program, and the 18.5 cm height of the base does not mean sitting with a thud, and is just right to swing your legs off the floor.
The Starlet Queen Size Bed Frame comes at an unbelievable price of S$ 277. You will be thrilled to get such a sturdy bed frame which would have cost at least S$ 500, if not more, anywhere else in Singapore. The deal becomes all the more attractive since it is delivered and installed free of charge.

The Bedframe Evolution
Ever wondered how bed frames came to be the way they look, how they started and they have been transformed?
The story of beds is as old as human civilization. All creatures that move need rest and sleep, and human beings have had the ability to create beds for themselves. From straw and hay, the bed evolved into one of wood, metal, leather with soft cushions. Centuries passed and each brought its own innovative designs and styles that matched with other furniture.
An interesting article on the Evolution of Bedframes have been posted on Beds.sg article section.

8th and 9th Mattress Given Under Free Mattress Program
We made an exception this week, 2 mattresses were given to a family this week. This family was referred to us by a welfare worker from Singapore’s Children Society. Give their current situation, we agreed internally to give them 2 mattresses. Below is the brief story:
“Mr XXX is married with 4 children, ages from 6 to 17 years old. All of his children are still in school. Mr. XXX had been retrenched and is having difficulty finding another job. Wife is the main breadwinner, earning $820 per month as a cleaner. Family has several arrears with HDB and utility bills and is struggling to survive on wife’s only source of income.
Family was previously relying on Mr. XXX’s savings to meet their daily needs, but his savings has since depleted. During a recent home visit, I noted that children’s room has no mattress, and they have to make do with a thin comforter to sleep on.
Mr. XXX shared that he had recently thrown out the old mattresses as there were many bed bugs on them. Family is currently receiving assistance from Singapore Children Society Family Service Centre (Yishun) to ensure that children’s schooling needs are met. The mattress would go a long way to ensure that the children have a proper bed to sleep on. ”
Once again, I urge anyone who encounters such families to apply for the Free Mattress Program on their behalf. The application form can be found in http://www.beds.sg/fmp.asp

7 Useful Tips on Decorating Bedrooms
A few tips to help make things a lot easier for you as you go about the business of decorating your bedroom.
1) It is not what you keep but how you keep it. Bedrooms can have the cheapest furniture and accessories, but that too can look beautiful if placed right and coordinated in an appealing manner. The look of openness with bright sunlight seeping in during the day makes the bedroom cheerful and bright, instead of dull and morose.
2) Clutter free bedrooms should be the aim, since clutter makes the room messy and unkempt, it detracts from the feeling of comfort and warmth and prevents the free flow of positive energy. Above all, clutter leaves little space to sit or lie down. Adequate storage is important but this need not be in the form of giant sized wardrobes. It can also be created in dressers and chests to break the monotony of the room.Ornate beds look beautiful but the size of the bedroom must be borne in mind before ordering the bed, lest they be so huge as to dwarf the room with their size and leave no space to even move about.
3) Placing mirrors in the bedroom is not just auspicious but mirrors also create the illusion of space and make the room look bigger.
4) Comforters and bedspreads in coordinated colors with soothing prints enhance the elegance of he bedroom.
Lighting of the master bedroom must bring warmth by being neither too much nor too dim which may make visibility a problem.
5) Freshly painted bedrooms bring a clean and pleasing look that make the bedroom more inviting. Lighter colors soothe the occupants more.
6) The flooring of the bedroom also has a role to play in its ambience. Lighter short pile carpets and rugs add to the décor and give a greater aesthetic appeal to the room.
7) Display of artwork, decoration pieces like crystal vases, hand painted ceramics, beautifully framed family pictures and other attractive pieces add character to the room. However, too many decorative items will make the place excessively done up and become less appealing.
Implementing these suggestions is easy and the end result will make it worth the effort put in, with a master bedroom that may become paradise for the occupants.

Mattress For Horse Racing Addicts
It has been a long time since I received a marketing email made me LOL. I categorize all marketing emails as spam unless I have dealt with the company before. I usually delete all unsolicitated marketing emails without reading. Yesterday, by chance I happen to read an marketing email from “Punters Way”, you know that little book that “ah peks” carry around especially during weekends around Kranji area.
Apparently, the sales guy did some research before sending out these marketing emails. He knew that Beds.sg was selling mattress (well done!), and what’s interesting was that he managed to reason/conclude that the “ah peks” in Kranji was a viable target audience for us and we should spend some money marketing to them. Mattresses for horse racing gamblers, wow!
Below is the screenshot of the email, I have blurred the original email address to protect his privacy.
Yes, the message was cute, but no, I am not going to advertise with them.

6th Mattress Given Under Free Mattress
Free Mattress Program Update
We have given away the 6th mattress under our Free Mattress Program. The following is the story of the recipient :
I am 49 years old, I saw your news article on “My Paper” regarding the “Free mattresses for the needy” and so I would like to be granted with one of those beds due to the financial difficulties I am facing at the moment.
I have lost my job recently and have been finding another job. However due to my age and the current recession period, getting another job is tough. Having a family of 5, including myself, financial management is becoming harder.
My wife 45, is a housewife taking care of my daughter age 7, who is schooling in special school. My younger son, 19 is studying at Republic Polytechnic.
Currently, my bed I am sleeping on is not in a very good condition. The bed has stains of my daughter’s urine and so I like to have a change of bed as the bed has last for over 20 years.
Reading through the essay, I hope, should have given the insight of my situation and difficulties my family and I are financially. I appreciate if you will to grant me with the bed. Thank you.”
